On 2 September 2014 the NMBA Executive Committee ratified a proposal to establish a public relations and marketing arm.
NMBA PR & Marketing was established as an ad hoc committee that is administered and directed by the Executive. The committee consists of a Convenor and six additional members who meet on a monthly basis.
Responsibilities include media liaison, design and branding and our latest project was the design of the new blazer pocket for NMBA Full Colours and Honours which were handed out at our prize-giving earlier this year.
We are also responsible for proposing clothing designs to the Executive and we recently introduced a NMBA jacket for our athletes that will be worn with a pair of black tracksuit pants. This will replace the old EP tracksuit.
But that's not all we keep ourselves busy with of course! One of the main functions of the committee is fundraising and we appeal to all our affiliates to assist us in our drive to raise funds for our athletes. First prize would be to source a 'naming' or 'headline' sponsor.
We have some exciting events coming up and we'd love to be able to communicate effectively with everybody to keep you up to date with what we're planning. NMBA have a facebook page, a twitter account and…..yes! an Instagram account! Instagram is getting off the ground slowly, but facebook and twitter are updated regularly. Look out for details of a competition involving our social media soon.
Any affiliate who has an event that they would like to advertise can contact us to upload their event onto our social media platforms.
